I have had a 'brick wall' that I have been trying to knock down for 40 years without success. My 2xgt grandfather, Thomas Barnard was born in 1790, and family naming patterns suggest his parents were named Thomas and Elizabeth. Margaret Cambridge, one of the kind members of this list found a marriage entry of Thomas Barnard & Elizabeth Richardson who were married at St. Dunstan in the West, 17 Nov 1775. They had at least two sons, William, christened, 31 May 1789, and Thomas, christened 24 October, 1790, both at St John-The-Baptist, Walbrook, City of London. My problem is that I can't prove or disprove that any of these people are my family. Although none of the given names are uncommon, they fit precisely in my family through the generations. I know the family details from the 1841 census to the present day. Thomas 1790 died in 1849 before the 1851 census that would have given his place of birth. They were living in Beccles, Suffolk at the time, but neither Thomas or Sarah his wife was born in the county. I would love to contact any descendants of this family so that we could compare our research. Alan British Columbia, Canada
