According to the National Archives index for 1891 it was near Bath Row. Bath Row is now Ramsgate Street according to <http://www.maps.thehunthouse.com/Streets/Old_to_New_Abolished_London_Street_Names.htm> This is Ramsgate St on a modern map http://tinyurl.com/44fqu5z It looks very modern when you use Street View, so I would imagine Dyssal St might have disappeared by now. So it was north of Dalston Lane HTH Anne On 15 May 2011, at 16:36, Gill Jones wrote: > Could some SKS enlighten me as to where Dyssall Street is in West Hackney. The 1891 census RG12/187 page 42 has the parish of St John at Hackney and the Residential Parish or District of St Marks at Dalston. A modern map ref would be very useful. > > Thanks > > Gill > > > > ----- > No virus found in this message. > Checked by AVG - www.avg.com > Version: 10.0.1375 / Virus Database: 1500/3637 - Release Date: 05/14/11 > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > This mailing list works in parallel with the London surname interest list on the web at http://homepages.ihug.co.nz/~hughw/london.html .
