Hi Listers, I have two boys being left orphans aged 8 and 7 in 1794 and 1795. They had three older brothers, 16,14 and 12. Would these younger boys be put in an orphanage ? Their bothers were left about £200 each in 1802. Would the older brothers be too young to be in charge of them ? They lived in Spitalfields. Thanks, Maureen in Oz
Sounds like a lot of money to me. I would suppose a lawyer was looking after them and they probably had a house they all lived in.
