Hello All! I am researching my g-g-g-grandfather, Thomas LEECH, who was supposedly born in London about 1826. Thomas has been a somewhat elusive character for me, because he moved to America, then back to England, and then back to America where he died in 1908. Thomas & his first wife, Rebecca (an American), were married in 1853 and divorced around 1868/1869 in Memphis, Tennessee. Through a random series of events, I have unearthed a second marriage between Thomas and a young widow named Sarah Therese BROOKS née JONES in Aston, Warwickshire. Their marriage certificate from 25 Nov 1873 listed his father as John LEECH (deceased) and his profession was a "Licensed Victualler". I located the couple living together in Lancashire in the 1881 census, and Thomas listed his birthplace as "Middlesex, London". I am wondering if anyone else is researching a John LEECH who was a publican/tavern-keeper/licensed victualler/etc. living in London around 1826 when Thomas would have been born. If there is any other information I can provide that might be useful, please let me know. Thank you all so much for your help! ~ Sarah Dallas, Texas
