She became a school teacher in Bath and governess/head mistress at Godolphin School, Salisbury. She retired in 1854. The National Provincial Bank put notices in various newpapers throughout the country of the "persons of whom the company or partnership consists" with an address and Mary BAZLEY turns up in 1863(in the Hampshire Telegraph & Sussex Chronicle) at 6 Denbigh Road, Kensington Park, W, in 1867 she is at 6 Colville Road, Bayswater. There she stays (according to the NPB) until 1871 when she is at Upper Bognor, Sussex. Does anyone have access to any directories of London for the dates of 1863, 1866, 1867, 1868, 1869, and 1870 and is Margaret Bazley mentioned in any of them? I am also looking for her widowed sister Caroline DRAKE who may be living with her, as they were living together before Caroline's marriage in 1852 and after 1871>> Hi Lesley, I believe this could be the Sisters': 1861 Census - 26, Gilbert St. St. George Hanover Sq. Hello Meg, Thank you for your email. I checked both James and Lucy DRAPER and Margaret G BAYLEY (BAZLEY has been transcribed incorrectly as BAYLEY more than once) but sadly they are not the ones I am looking for. I am waiting for some research from Devon CRO and hope that they may throw up some light as to where the elusive Margaret BAZLEY was in the 1860's!! Many thanks again for your email. Lesley Abraham.
