Hello List , I've just found a baptism record dated 1814 which lists the father 's occupation as "Transparent Painter " - has anyone any idea what exactly this would be ? Usually this man has been recorded on other baptism & Mcert records as "Artist" but of course that covers quite a number of areas - but this latest definition is a mystery . I', wondering if perhaps it is something to do with painting on glass or mirror ? Any suggestions appreciated , kind regards Nancy
