My grandmother, Anna Sarah Maria BOND was born in Acton in 1870. Her mother died in 1885, when she was 15. She was, in her day, a good cook, and I have wondered how and where she learned these skills. She said that she worked for the Rothschild family, but I have no more detail. She was a housekeeper after her first husband died in 1901, and she remarried in 1905. Perhaps it was during this period that she may have worked for the Rothschilds. Does anyone know whether members of the Rothschild family lived in the Acton/Gunnersbury/Chiswick area at that time? Any information would be much appreciated. David Roberts
