I am new to this list. Does anyone have an interest in the district of Peckham? I have just discovered that my mother ( who was adopted before the Adoption Act of 1927) was shown on the 1911 Census as having been born on London, and someone has added the word Peckham beside the entry. Does anyone have any knowledge of orphanages or children's homes that would have been active in this area round about 1901, when I believe her to have been born.
