    3. Hi all, I have an ancestor ( Thomas Fishburn) whose occupation is shown as something that looks like feul /?eul/seul/seud in the London, England Marriages and Banns entry. Thomas married Letitia Mary FitzPatrick in 1846, St Luke's parish, Chelsea, Middlesex County. Can anyone assist with a possible occupation? Or could anyone who has ancestry.com perhaps check the entry to see what they may come up with? Many thanks for your thoughts, Cheers Sue ( in Oz)

    3. Hi Sue Have you found him in the census to see what his occupation was there? My suggestion would be "Gent" ie Gentleman Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Hi all, > > I have an ancestor ( Thomas Fishburn) whose occupation is shown as > something that looks like feul /?eul/seul/seud in the London, England > Marriages and Banns entry. > Thomas married Letitia Mary FitzPatrick in 1846, St Luke's parish, > Chelsea, Middlesex County. > > Can anyone assist with a possible occupation? 3. Hi again Did you also see there is a licence for this marriage on Ancestry ? Although it does not mention an occupation, it does give a clue that the family may have had a little money On the marriage cert, Letitia's father being an Officer in the Army also lends weight to the "Gent" theory Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) > Hi all, > > I have an ancestor ( Thomas Fishburn) whose occupation is shown as > something that looks like feul /?eul/seul/seud in the London, England > Marriages and Banns entry. > Thomas married Letitia Mary FitzPatrick in 1846, St Luke's parish, > Chelsea, Middlesex County. > > Can anyone assist with a possible occupation?
