    1. [LON] George Bradshaw 1825 London

    3. I need help in trying to find out what happened to George BRADSHAW who was my great great grandfather. The only information we have is what was supplied on the marriage and the birth certificates of his children with Agnes RUSSELL. He was supposed to have come from the London area and was born around 1825 and that he was a Master Mariner. He married Agnes RUSSELL in Sydney on 9 May 1853 at the Presbyterian Church of Scotland and the witnesses were James Cavanagh and George Paterson. The first child, a male, George Thomas Carrick, was born in Sydney in 1855 and then they travelled south to Victoria where three of the daughters (Agnes Elizabeth, Jane, and Marra) were born in Emerald Hill and the 4th (Annie) in Sandy's Creek in Gippsland. When his wife was pregnant with the 5th child he took off never to be seen again. We assume he took off back to sea. Although Agnes did have another partner, Richard PARKER, after George she did not marry him. Agnes married a Hugh GRAY IN 1870 after Richard PARKER died in 1869. So Agnes must have known he was still alive somewhere and only legally married after the set time was up. Shirlee Wellington, NZ
