The Rothschild family owned Gunnersbury Park from 1835 when Nathan Mayer Rothschild purchased the Large Mansion and park ( they later purchased the Small Mansion) until 1925 when it was sold after the death of Nathan's grandson Leopold Rothschild. The grounds became a park for the local community ( part was used for a cemetery) and the Large Mansion now houses the local history museum for the London Boroughts of Ealing and Hounslow. So the family story is possible! HTH Anne On 6 Jun 2011, at 09:54, David Roberts wrote: > My grandmother, Anna Sarah Maria BOND was born in Acton in 1870. Her mother > died in 1885, when she was 15. Ann Thank you so much. I remember Gunnersbury Park very well from my early years in Ealing. How I wish - like all of us I imagine - I had asked even more questions as a child.
