This could be looking for a needle in a haystack, or the last straw. The dates are possible, and the names could be right, but the geography could be difficult. It was the time of the Napoleonic wars though, and George was in the army. A George Wells, “sergeant in the Leeds staff”, registered the birth of (hopefully), my2ggm Mary Anne Wells, b 30 July 1810, at Leeds. There is a good chance that his wife was a Boyd, possibly with Irish connections. Maybe they married in London. I think that I can get a copy of the London record from LDS but have difficulty with time and place. Is this record likely to be available online somewhere? What information would it be likely to contain. I’m looking for occupation, birthplace, anything. I need to point out that they are very likely to be Methodists. The Leeds CofE birth record seems minimal, no mention of mother. As I understand it they might have had a Methodist wedding but needed to register it with the CofE. (I’ve never fully understood the mechanics of this. I have a few other non-conformist relatives that are difficult to follow.) A George Lazenby went from Leeds to the colony at Western Australia in 1833, Mary Ann followed 6 years later, and they married. Unfortunately WA kept only minimal BDM records. Any help appreciated.
