Apologies to the list for this general query but it may be of interest to others hoping to order BD records for the London and other areas: I understand that, from today, the GRO are running a pilot under which we can order birth and death records in PDF format to be emailed to us. Well, now that many mother's maiden names are shown in the index even before 1911, I can home in on more of my London ancestors, even those with common names, so I'm thrilled to hear of the GRO PDF experiment. However, for more information on the hows and wherefores (and not least the cost), the GRO refers me to the Most People Want to Know section. Up to now, though, I've been unable to find the relevant information, It's as though they've launched the pilot before the infrastructure is ready, but I expect it's just me who can't find it. Is there anyone on the list who knows where to find this information please? (I've mailed the GRO but unsure if or when they'll be able to answer, beyond the automatic reply, referring me BACK to the most wanted section.)
