Hi Chris I have found William's mother - now a widow aged 32 - in the 1851 census. Still in Ebenezer Buildings where the family are in 1841. She gives her birthplace as Great Dunmow Essex so I am sure there is a link to my Gunner family - also dyers and linked to Dunmow. William's brothers, Edward aged 10. and Henry 8 and Richard 4 are with her. No sign yet of his older sister Sarah, nor william himself. I will keep looking and send direct emails with any findings.
