    1. [LONDON] GOWENS

    3. I need some help folks. I am researching the GOWENS family of St. George in the East, London. I have found them in most of the Census but not in 1841 despite trying to go down the appropriate streets. James and brother George and their families can be found in Green Bank in most Census thereafter whilst their parents : Charlotte and William are at E9 Lower Well Alley, St. George in the East in 1851. Where the heck are they though in 1841? Most of the males are Lightermen. I am also looking for Benjamin Gowen born 1821, missing in both 1841 and 1861. In 1851 he is with his parents and shares the house with brother James and his family at Lower Well Alley as above. Any help would be gratefully received. --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus

    3. Hi, Having found Benjamin's son Charles I was able to find that family in 1861. I often find it is easier to find children than their parents.
