Hi, I am wondering if someone may be able to explain a detail on a Marriage Certificate I have for 1881. The Marriage took place at the Register Office in Whitechapel The Grooms name is shown as Samuel Levy but at the bottom where it says "The marriage was solemnized between us the Groom has signed his surname as Levey. Above the "e" is the number 25. On the right hand side is written the words Twenty Five and the initials W. E. (the Registrar was a W Edwards) My question is which is the correct spelling? Levey as written by the Groom or Levy which appears above. Thank you. Brian
