Hi I am writing to provide an update on the 1871 Surrey census project. Two further pieces have been uploaded to the on line database and are now searchable for free on the main freecen site at http://www.freecen.org.uk These are pieces *RG10/683 Brixton * which covers part of Lambeth *RG10/712 Wandsworth *which covers part of Wandsworth This means that there are now 67,452 (8.4%) 1871 Surrey census records available to search free on line. Many thanks to all the volunteers who have kindly given up their free time to assist with the project without their help this information would not be available. We have a long way to go but the more volunteers we get the quicker the information will become available.
