    1. [LON] Violet Drew + Littlepage + James.
    2. Tony Drew via
    3. Dear All, I think I have knowledge of a daughter of my paternal grandfather's older brother, viz Frederick George Drew (wife Mary Ann (maiden name Smith)) - his daughter born in 1919, Violet Drew. She married Albert E. Littlepage in 1936, registered in Poplar. Then I belive that Frederick George Drew died at his daughter's house in 1961, but she was now called Violet James and her husband was Albert James. Their address then was 30 Dawson Avenue, St. Pauls Cray. The problem lies in the two names of husbands ! I cannot find the death of Littlepage, or the marrage to Albert James recorded anywhere. Is it the same person changing his name or any other answer. Any information would be gratefully received. Regards Tony Drew

    3. Many thanks Nivard, I think the predictive texting took over as I thought I had put Butlersome! It sounds so weird that it could well be him in the asylum I would think. Thanks for having a look, he obviously didn't make it as a comedian or a green grocer either! I have Butler on my tree and did wonder if he might be just plain Butler. Eileen. 3. Hi all, John Giles POOLE, born 1838, Dublin, married Susan Elizabeth NELSON, born 1841, Hoxton, London on 29 August 1858 St James Parish, Shoreditch. In 1871 I find them living at 14 Richmond Place, Hackney. I am unable to find them on Ancestry in the 1861 census. I have even tried leaving out the surname and checking every entry. I wonder if SKS could check Find My Past to see if they are listed in 1861. I would appreciate any help. Marg >From the Beautiful British Columbia Cariboo Region, Canada

    3. Thank you Christine and Alan for taking the time to look. Unfortunately I do not know the mothers (wifes) name without ordering a cert and was hoping with at least 5 childrens' names to be able to find them on the 1861 and go from there. Yes Alan being born and raised in Canada I am aware that the county names changed frequently and within close proximity of each other could be registered in various places. Yes very hard to try and be a FINN and figure out where I would hide on a census lol. I am sure it is spelt somehow fabulously but thank you for your suggestion. 3. Hi Jackie, I cannot find them in 1861. More information might help. Such as 1871 census results, children's birthplaces and/or mother's name. I have looked on 1871 and found some quite possibles but none of the family together. The trouble with birthplaces is they change between London and Middlesex or Surrey and that can make searching more difficult. So possibly mother's name might be the best way to proceed and for that you need the birth certificate of one of the children. It might be best to pick the one for whom you are most sure you have the correct reference. I did find one quite possible entry for Thomas PHINN in 1871. I did try searching without a surname for some of the children but it was a bit like searching for a needle in a haystack.
