Thanks very much for the replies received - each of them is much appreciated. I had come across at least one family who lived close to the NY/CT border and wonder about them because of the names and another which moved (or partly moved) from Long Island NY to CT. To potentially confuse things there is another (?) William Lloyd who per the 1870 Federal Census was born in Tennessee about 1825 (and/or another born New York NY the same year) living in Ward 6, New Haven CT. On pages 130 and 131 are; Lloyd, William R, 45, M, W, Book keeper, $0 real estate, $300 personal; estate, born Tennessee; Lloyd, Charlotte He, 41, F, W, Keeping House, $2,000 real estate, born Conn. Fannie E Lloyd aged 15, attended school during year; Laura Barns aged 75; Louisa M Carr, 38, Fancy Goods Clerk, $2,000 real estate, born Conn; and Elizabeth B Sherman aged 38, seamstress, $2,000 real estate, born Conn. >From this and other information there may have been two Laura Barn(e)s born within a couple of years of each other unless 'Barns' was not the maiden name of this Laura Barns. Cheers Ray
