    3. Hi Diane, All I know is that Walter and Lizzie either stayed at the Railway Inn at Stockport or owned it. I think the latter. A lady off another site told me they had Robert about 1924 and he went down to Berkshire to be a jockey in 1939 and he had an older sister. at the moment I don't know where any of them was born but I will keep your e.mail together and get back to you. I am more interested in Lizzie as she was my grans cousin. Gran was a Wills and I'm having enough trouble finding those. Good luck with your search though! 1. [LLOYD] LLOYD Family - Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Wales : mid 18C onwards
    2. David Font
    3. My interest is in my mother's surname LLOYD which I have recently discovered originated from the Haverfordwest area from the mid-late 1700's. Some of the source information discovered is on the IGI so still requires verification. The oldest known LLOYD is a Thomas LLOYD born abt 1738 in Prendergast near Haverford west. According to the IGI he was married to a Mary ? and had the following children: 1. John LLOYD (1777-1854) 2. William LLOYD (1781-1856) 3. Esther LLOYD (1783-1865) 4. James LLOYD (1783- ) 5. Sarah LLOYD (1786-1850) 6. Martha LLOYD (Abt 1790- ) 7. David LLOYD (1799- ) I have only verified : 3. Esther LLOYD who I have found in the 1841 and 1851 censuses. She married a John Rowlands. One of her daughters, Jane Rowlands, married a Thomas Vaughan, who was an Accountant/Land Agent in Haverfordwest up to the 1890's. 1. John LLOYD who is my mother's direct ancester. He was born in Prendergast and may have married at least twice, firstly to a Jane Evans and later to a Jane Higgons?. In 1841 and 1851 this family is living in Barn St, Haverfordwest. John's occupation was a butcher. His children, to my knowledge, were: 1. John LLOYD (Est 1829-Bef 1881) 2. James LLOYD (Abt 1833- ) 3. Isaac LLOYD (1840-Bef 1861?) 4. Jane LLOYD (Abt 1843- ) 5. Joseph LLOYD (Abt 1835- ) 6. William LLOYD (Abt 1831- ) 7. Richard LLOYD (Abt 1837-Bef 1841) 8. Thomas LLOYD (Abt 1828- ) 9. George John LLOYD (Abt 1826-Bef 1891) Many of these names feature in both the censuses and IGI. 1. John LLOYD (1829-abt1881) was a Iron and Brass Moulder. He later moved to Cardigan and then back to Haverfordwest, then eventually. in the late 1850's to Liverpool, England where the tree eventually arrives at my mother, Dorothy LLOYD (b 1924- ). 2. James LLOYD married a Charlotte Lawrence and stayed in Haverfordwest. He was a butcher, living in Barn St, Church St, "Castle Back" up to 1881 4. Jane LLOYD b 1843, never married. When her parents died she lived with Esther Rowlands (nee LLOYD) and later with Esthers daughter Jane Rowlands and her husband Thomas Vaughan until both Jane Vaughan (nee Rowlands) and Thomas Vaughan died in the 1890's. Up to the 1881 census she was in Barn St, then in 1891 Kensington Gardens, in 1901 back to Barn St. 6. William LLOYD was a Iron Founder, then a Blacksmith. He moved to Milford then to Swansea in 1870's 8. Thomas LLOYD, married a Hannah Davies. In 1872 this family emigrated to USA and finished up in northern Utah 9 George LLOYD moved to Milford in the 1840's then Pembroke in the 1850's, then Swansea. His occupation was Iron and Brass Moulder. If there are subscribers who have LLOYD's from Haverfordwest in their ancestry, I would be please to hear from them. Dave

    3. Hello, Sorry to say I have no info. on John LLOYD's siblings, but I believe we have the same ancestor, John LLOYD b. Dec. 25, 1704 London, Middlesex, England and d. ca 1761 in Calmes' Neck, Frederick Co. VA. He m. (2) Prudence EMORY 1742, dau. of George EMOREY and Cahterine THOMAS. Prudence was b. ca. 1720 and d. ca. 1761 Calmes' Neck, Frederick Co., VA. Notes for John LLOYD: John LLOYD was bound to a boot and shoemaker. Before his time expired, he married without his master's consent. This, by the laws of England, disqualified a man from being a master workman and through life he can only be a journeyman. He returned home one evening from his work and found his wife and one child dead. This was a disturbing circumstance and occasioned him to turn his thoughts toward America. He landed in Baltimore in 1726. I am descended through John and Prudence EMOREY LLOYD's son Thomas LLOYD b. Oct. 02, 1744, Orange Co. VA d. dec. 01, 1805, Clarke Co. VA. Then through William LLOYD b. ca. 1766 VA d. bef. 1860. You can contact me at [email protected] Thanks. 3. Hi Lorranie, In my late uncles books I found a reference to Lizzie Lloyd and bairns sent to my late granma. My uncle threw nothing much out, as my gran died in 63. I am just wondering if they are related to my Grans family. I believe they were at Queens Hotel, Stockport sometime in the 1940's. My gran was called Jane Wills, of Sc orton, Lancs.I believe her husband to be a William Lloyd. I have a small photo of 2 childrem outside a shop(don't know where it is) and it sayd W. Lloyd I think. I would have to route it out . I became interested after we got a computor as my parents are gone now and I am an only child(well I wsa) Another card came from Lizzy from the hotel. In one of Uncle Jacks diaries he said the3 Lloyd sisters visited in the late 80's and to my dad, but he never told me. We laved in Lincs. at the time. My husband comes from there, and he wrote they were at Stockport/ Buxton and Silverdale( which is in Cumbria Lloyd. Alady from the Curious Fox site says they had a son called Robert. I havent had time to write back to her as I had Chloe, our little grandchild yesterday . Well Lorraine does this make any sense to you at all and would you e.mail me back. I would love to know. 3. Hi, I am researching Lloyds and wondered where Stockport is in regards to Armley, Hunslet and Bramley as my William Lloyd was in these areas. Also he was supposed to have had 3 wives 2 that I have found, Martha Ann Buttery and Annie Russell. My grandmother was Henrietta Lloyd daughter of William and Martha ann. I do believe Williams father was Thomas and possibly from Worcestershire but then thats just a long shot. As I am from Ontario Canada, I dont have any ideas about the above areas as to how close etc and people could move from place to place easily I imagine. Any help??????
