I am researching the genealogy of Hugh Littleton who was born in Clermont County, Ohio and died (1901) in Loraine, Adams, Illinois. I received some information from the State Historical Society of Wisconsin about the Civil War records for both Hugh Littleton and and his son Francis (Frank). When Hugh enlisted October 30, 1861 he states his age as 41 years old. That would mean he was born in 1820 which is inconsistent with both his tombstone (1825) and and indenture letter (1824) of which I have a copy. Both Hugh and Frances were in Company D, 18 Regt, Wisc Inf. Hugh was a Corporal. It looks like they had action at Shiloh, Corinth, Chattanooga, Allatoona and Kinston (N.C.) Since Frances was born in Clermont County, Ohio it is likely that Hugh was both born and married in that County.
