Tho I've not faced this particular experience in working on the family tree, I've faced it numerous times in my profession (clinical social worker)...someone calls, wanting to talk to someone in treatment, but I don't have that person's consent to share. Easy solution, I give a pat answer, telling about confidentiality, and volunteer to take the caller's name, phone and address, and if the callee should come in, I pass it on. Works beautifully. Tho, it is kind of onerous at times ("I KNOW MY SON/DAUGHTER/WIFE IS THERE, I TOOK THEM....") kind of responses, but most folks understand. As for the researchers that refuse to do this sort of thing, they shouldn't be doing any genealogy stuff, thats just being stupid and narrow minded. And as for not giving credit for someone else's research, I think that is called plagiarism legally. Just makes one want to give em wrong info. Anyhow, what goes around will eventually come around. ----- Original Message ----- From: charlotteken <charlotteken@email.msn.com> To: <LITTLETON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, December 02, 1999 4:39 AM Subject: Re: LITTLETON List Apology! > Sorry all Littleton List, I sent TWO venting letters, I > > had too many things on my mind and forgot I already sent > > one, then it was too late! > > I was so upset and agreed with Terry, happy someone > > else had the same problems I was having.Seems the > > ones marked "Private" are the ones I am interested in! > > of course. > > Charlotte > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Littleton, Terry" <TerryLi@lee.k12.fl.us> > To: <LITTLETON-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Tuesday, November 23, 1999 6:55 AM > Subject: LITTLETONs in Vermont? > > > > Hi all, > > > > Has anyone ever come across any LITTLETONs that were in Vermont in the > early 1800's?
