Last week while visiting The Hermitage, home of Andrew Jackson, we visited the Hermitage Confederate Cemetery, on the grounds of the church andrew had built for Rachel Donelson Jackson at Tulip Grove Farm. My husband, who is the tombstone detective of the family found the following: Stone #272 Dr. R.S. LITTLETON 1832-1913. ALA. SUR. Dr. Littleton died in the Tennessee Home for Confederate Soldiers in Nashville. There are about 300 graves, each marked with a small upright stone. Marketta from Madera.
