    1. ANOTHER YEAR
    2. Littleton, Terry
    3. Greetings all subscribers. I just sent in the sponsor fee to keep this list going for another year at least. I started it last March and can't believe how many Littleton relatives I have met since then. I just counted, and unless some of you have subscribed with multiple e-mail addresses (like I have), we now have 81 subscribers. Just wanted everyone to know what was going on. Since I help so many people on here, and since I sponsor this list, I'm gonna take this opportunity to explain my 'genealogy wall' and force you to read it (HA HA) in hopes that someone out there might be of some help. To be honest, I really haven't learned much on MY family from this newsgroup. My family wasn't as prolific a group as a lot of families were. Myself, my father and my gf were all only kids. Before that, 4 kids was about the max. So there aren't TONS of relatives to ask stuff of. OK - here goes: My WALL is my ggg gf John Wesley Littleton. I knew where and when he died (1838 in Clark Co, OH) but I didn't know where he was buried or his parents. We found his grave about two months ago. Unfortunately, he died in 1838 at the age of 32 which meant he didn't have a will and it's to early for his death to be recorded there. Believe me, we (I had a lady there helping me) tore everyplace we could think of apart in Clark Co. looking for some reference to his death or parents names. NOTHING. JWL had 3 other children besides my gg gf. I have contacted everyone in my direct line with no luck on finding JWL's parents names. One other sons line I have lost in the late 1800's in Springfield MO, one son disappeared from Hardin Co, OH when he became an adult (I have a death date for him from a deceased relative but I don't know if it's in OH or not and it's just a tad to early for Ohio State death records) and the 4th child (a daughter) has gotten herself lost in OHIO. I keep hoping to have one of the descendants from one of those other three lines show up on our newsgroup and have information on the parents of our JWL but so far, no luck. I know JWL was born in 1803 and married in Loudoun Co, VA (have his marriage record). There are two different (it appears) John W's in Loudoun Co in the huge VA tree that many of you are descended from, but they have no birth dates so I can't connect my JWL to either of those JWL's. There is a William and Mary Littleton in Loudoun Co, that had a son John W but I can't prove they are the same person. OK, there you have it, Thanks for reading it. Maybe someone will stumble on something that fits here and remember me. Now back to regular business - get out there and DIG. Thanks for subscribing to the newsgroup. It has been great getting to know and work with all of you. Let's hope it keeps growing and we all benefit from it this next year. Terry Littleton (listdad)
