Second I waited and no one responded to the inquery on Pherel Littleton and Leander (Goddard) wife of John Littleton. So I went through my notebooks for a "clue". I have a Goddard Family Genealogy and there was some reference to the Littleton's but most of it all known information. Something of interest I did find was that the town of Goddard was first know as SANFORD (now known as Goddard or Goddard Village). The account is as follows: "Leanner (or Lena-Lee Anne-Leaune) Goddard (Littleton) (daughter of John Goddard) (Mary McTier) ) b. prob. bet. 1767 -70 in Va (prob. Fairfax co.; could have been Fauquier Co.); died bet. 1840-50 at Sanford, Ky. (grave has not been located; prob. bur. on the home farm). She married; in Oct, 1787 John Littleton, Jr.; b. bet. 760-65 in Va. (one source says, possibly in England) d. in Sep. 1836, Sanford. Farmer. Issue--12 are known; possibly as many as 13 or 15. The following from "BUCANAN COUNTY HISTORY, VOLUME 1, 1984" (Missouri) AUGUSTUS LITTLETON "This branch of the Littleton family probably came to the United States when the immigrant, John, Sr. sold the family jewels in England to pay for passage for himself and several children to Virginia. He was a widower at the time. His son, Pherel, Loudon County, Virginia was killed by a falling tree around 1775. John, son of Pherel, married Leanner Goddard around 1785-86. Leanner was one of a large family who lived on Fox Creek in Fleming County, Kentucky. They became progenitors of many Buchanan County early families" Maybe some one can find a connection to our immigrant ancestor from the above.
