    1. Pherryl Littleton
    2. In the 1820 Census for Clermont County, Ohio (Ohio Twp) I have a record of a Pherel Littleton that is the head of a household. The information in that microfilm shows 1 male under 10, 1 male 16-26, 1 female 16-26, and 1person engaged in agriculture. This may be the same information that Rick is refering to below. I also show a Fielding Lyttleton in the same township in the 1830 Census. In this case it shows 1 male under 5, 1 male 5-10, 1 male 30-40, 2 females under 5, 1 female 5-10, 1 female 20-30. Since I don't find Pherel Littleton in the 1830 census one could speculate that they are the same person. VA Will Book (abstracts) at the Seattle Public Library, I found references to him on pg 48, 51, 57, 62, and 103. On these pages, he is a witness in wills dated 1750, 1751, 1752, 1753, and 1761(or 1765). His name is spelled Ferrill or Ferrell Littleton. These wills are not connected to other Littletons as far as I can tell. The second reference to this name that I have found is the 1820 census of Clermont Co OH, in which John and Martha's son is written Pherel Littleton - this is their son Pherel Fielding Littleton. A third reference, from "BUCANAN COUNTY HISTORY, VOLUME 1, 1984" (Missouri) AUGUSTUS LITTLETON "This branch of the Littleton family probably came to the United States when the immigrant, John, Sr. sold the family jewels in England to pay for passage for himself and several children to Virginia. He was a widower at the time. His son, Pherel, Loudon County, Virginia was killed by a falling tree around 1775. John, son of Pherel, married Leanner Goddard around 1785-86. Leanner was one of a large family who lived on Fox Creek in Fleming County, Kentucky. They became progenitors of many Buchanan County early families" These three references certainly suggest a connection for John to Farrell (Sr), as John's son was given this name. Also the fact that Farrel Littleton was in Fairfax Co in the 1750s, makes him a prime candidate for John's father, but I have seen no proof as yet. One possiblity is that John's father's name was a combination like John Pherel, or Pherel John, etc. and that he used different names during different parts of his life. In any event, there was a man in VA who used the name Farrell/Pherel/etc. during the 1750s.
