Terry, I'm adding my two-cents on this William and Sarah line. I also could not find a list of other children for this couple. James was the only one listed, although, I did think there was a Pleasant who married Catherine Anthony. I see that I was correct. You now have information on the children of Thomas and Mary. However, I have Emaline (Lina) born 1822 as daughter of James. This is a long e-mail. Hope it goes through okay. Let me know what you think. My information came from FamilySearch, Ancestry.com and Tennessee, The Volunteer State, 1769-1923, Vol. 3. pages 391, 392, 393, 389. Some of the dates do not jive. The information from the TN, The Vol. State, hints that William Littleton who came from England could tracy his line back to Sir Thomas Littleton who wrote the Treatise on Tenures and whose mother was Elizabeth, daughter and sole heir of Thomas de Littleton, lord of the manor of Frankley and esquire of the body of Richard II, Henry IV and Henry V. This Sir Thomas, as heir to his mother was baptized in her name, although the family retained that of Westcote from his father, Thomas Westcote of Westcote, near Barnstable. This Sir Thomas was justice of the court of common pleas in 1466 and in 1475 was created a Knight of the Bath on the admission of the Prince of Wales to the order. His eldest son, William (b 1443), succeeded to Frankley and was knighted by Henry VII for services rendered at the battle of Stoke, June 16, 1487. The second son, Richard (b 1448), was barrister and ancestor of Sir Edward Littleton of Pillaton Hall, Staffordshire. One of his descendants, Edward J! ohn Littleton, born 1791 was created first Baron Hatherton. Another son (my information indicates a "Thomas" born 1465) of Sir Thomas was ancestor of Edward Littleton, who in 1641 was created Lord Littleton of Munslow. My research shows that William came to the States in 1768 settling in NC and in about 1770 married Sarah Cottingham of NC. I can't find the line back to England. I can't connect him to Sir Thomas. According to a roster for the Rev. War, a William is listed as a Private in 1782 and served 12 months in Brevard's Company. Don't know if he is the same William. William and Sarah had two sons: Thomas and William Francis It was Thomas (b. 1772), son of William and Sarah, who moved to Hawkins Co., TN in 1797 after marry Mary Matlock in 1794. There is confusion regarding Pleasant Littleton and William L (or N) (Pleasant Green) Littleton. I found a Pleasant Littleton b abt 1806 who married Catherine Anthony (b 1812) on July 23, 1828 in Roane Co., TN. They had: William Riley..b Jun 1829 in TN Joseph W..b 1832 in TN Emeline..b 1834...indications that could have been born in either TN or Texas Louise..b 1838...same TN or TX Mary..b 1840...same as above James H..b 1843...ditto Henry..b 1846...ditto George M..b 1850...ditto I could not find the names of the remaining three children of James and Katherine to make a total of ten. This is where the dates do not jive..............big time! Pleasant Green, son of James and Katherine (Kitty) Brown married Elizabeth Ingram (b 1846?????). I have two birth dates for him 1820 which would match his being the first son of James and Katherine if their marriage date of 1819 is accurate.............OR 1845 and marriage to Elizabeth Ingram on Sept 13, 1867 in Roane Co., TN. I think the 1820 birth date is the correct one. The marriage date of 1867 would put him at 47. He supposedly died in 1917 which if the 1920 date is correct in his 90s. Children for PG and Elizabeth: 1) James Franklin..b Sept. 2, 1869; m Mamie Huff (The following birth dates could be lower) 2) Jennie..b abt 1877 ? 3) Katie..b abt 1879 ? 4) Addie..b abt 1881 ( I have another b date of 1844) m Fate Schrimphsau 5) Amanda..b abt 1883 (OR 1846 Roane Co.,TN) married John McNabb; Children: Sam, James and Nathaniel 6) John J..b abt 1885 (OR ????) married Lula Smith abt 1870; Children: Lee..b abt 1871; Frank..b abt 1873; Lula..b abt 1875 7) Henry..b abt 1887 ? 8) Mary..b abt 1889 (OR ?????) in Roane Co., TN; married John Blackburn 9) George W..b abt 1836????; Roane Co., TN; m Teletha Jane Hall abt 1866 * Wilson Elcaney...b June 1867??? G. and Elizabeth Littleton....practiced law in Loudon and Roane Counties and was one of the most substantial citizens of Kingston. Paternal grandparents, James and Katie (Brown) Littleton, natives of NC. Maternal grandparents, Steve and Elizabeth (Woods) Ingram of TN. According to this article, P.G. was born in 1849 and died in 1917. He was a farmer. Elizabeth was born in 1851 and survived her husband. No death date So the dates are really screwed up. Which are correct?????????? A second son of Thomas and Mary was William Francis, who married Nancy Jane Eblen (b. 1780 in TN) about 1800. Children: Charles ...b abt 1801; married Sarah (Sallie) G.
