    1. LITTLETONs in Vermont?
    2. Littleton, Terry
    3. Hi all, Has anyone ever come across any LITTLETONs that were in Vermont in the early 1800's? Looking for any info that might pertain to a Samuel Littleton that was supposedly in Vermont. To be honest, I have never seen any reference to Littletons being in that particular state, but who knows. HOPE EVERYONE HAS A GREAT THANKSGIVING!! Terry Littleton (listdad)

    3. I would love to help you out but I am working during normal working hours, unfortunately the time these places are open. I live one and 1/2 hour from Anna-Jonesboro, the county seat for Union Co. I hope someone else can help. It would be some time before I could arrange to make a trip down there. Someday I will tho. ---------- > From: Littleton, Terry <TerryLi@lee.k12.fl.us> > To: LITTLETON-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Union Co, IL > Date: Wednesday, November 17, 1999 12:28 PM > > Hi all, > > Is there anyone on here that lives in or near Union Co, IL? > I need someone there to look for a death certificate or obit for me. > > Any help is greatly appreciated. > > Terry Littleton (listdad) > > > ==== LITTLETON Mailing List ==== > LITTLETON-L@rootsweb.com >

    2. Terry, Your last line in your post, reads Macklinburg, Co. NC. You did mean Mecklinburg County, NC which is Charlotte, NC., didn't you? If it was a typo excuse the correction. Union County, NC is right next to it. I can't get to the library right now, but I will check the NC census for both of those counties and see if I can find any Littletons. Helen

Hi Terry, This is my first reply on this listing, but have been reading for 2 months. I have a William Littleton, b. NC 1805, m. 1828 in Sumner Co, TN to Sarah Scott, Their son James Thomas Littleton was born in 1830 in probably in Sumner Co. He married Almira Lucetta Fits in 1851 in Sumner Co. Their first child, William Sanford was boorn in Castillian Springs, Sumner Co, 1855. The next child was born in 12858 in Henry Co., TN. William Littleton is my gggrandfather and his son James T. is my ggrandfather. William Littleton had a brother or half brother named John A. Littleton, born in NC is 1807. He was Sheriff of Sumner Co, TN from 1852-1856. That is all I know about him. This research was done by my late cousin June McKinney Harrington of Jonesboro, AR. I have the sources she noted in the information she gave me, but it is not yet in my computer. Sorry. Would love to be in contact with others researching these LITTLETONs. Terry, I am descended from Levi H. Littleton (born 10/27/1822) and Mary Jane Day (born 7/4/1829) through my great-grandmother Sarah Mitchner Littleton (born 1/27/1873) who married James Clark McClellan. Levi H. Littleton and family left Sumner County sometime after the Civil War and settled in Eastland County Texas. I know very little else about Levi Littleton. My great-grandmother died when I was 20, but she did not say much about her parents and nothing about her family history. I would be interested in anything anyone on the list could provide regarding genealogy or anecdotes about the family. 3. Morning all, I posted a query last week about Sumner Co, TN LITTLETONs and I got several great replies. BUT I noticed they came to me and not to the list. I think a lot of these replies would be appreciated by others on the list so I changed (I think) the reply feature on the newsgroup so ANY reply will automatically go to the list. SO BE CAREFUL if you send something of a 'personal' nature as a reply. Remember to check the 'reply to' so you know where all it's going. I am going to forward the replies I got on this subject because I know there are several of us working on this line and the others would like to see this data. I hope those who sent me replies don't mind my forwarding them to the list. Our list doesn't have so much traffic that I have to worry about the volume of replies so I hope everyone approves of the change. Have a good week - Terry Littleton (listdad)

    3. Littleton Seekers, I have another one - NOAH LITTLETON, b. abt 1880, in AR. I have nothing to indicate he is a son of Noah LITTLETON, b. 1854, Hot Spring Co., AR. The new Noah was in Miller Co., AR., in 1910, and 1920, with wife Ethel and children: Ora (F), b. 1908, AR. Jettie (M),b. 1910, AR. Austin (M) b. 1912, AR. Dorothy (F), b. 1916, AR. Florence (F), b. 1919, AR. I find the use of Noah as a forename unusual, so wonder if there is some connection between his father and James J. LITTLETON, b. abt 1827 in GA., or Southey LITTLETON, b. abt 1805/1808, GA. Does anyone have something, or was everything lost in the flood!! Marketta in Madera.

My data on the Littletons and Roes and allied families is on the internet at http://www.my-ged.com/donohew/ I would welcome additions or corrections to the onformation found there.
