Does ANYONE have any idea what county Isaac D Littleton and family were in? The first reference I have to a place is Isasc's family entry in the Onslow Co, NC census and I show several of the family dying and being buried there. Hi Rick, Sorry it took me a while to get back to you. I kept forgetting to bring Brians manuscript to work until today. Here is what he found (he sent me copies of the actual records he found) as written in the manuscript. - ----------------------------- Farrell LITTLETON (also spelled Pherrill, Ferrill, etc) is claimed by descendants to be a son of Hon John Littleton. He witnessed several Fairfax Co, wills 1750-1753 and 1761, and is also listed in the Farifax Co, 'COURT ORDERS' 15 times from 1750 to 1758, principally as a losing defendant in cases brought by William Ramsey, Robert and Edward Maxwell, and John Gist. Supporting the link to John(2), 'cousin William (3) Littleton' also was a defendant in the Maxwell case, and Charles Littleton provided bail for def. Joseph Wilson. Family lore states that Pherrill was killed by a falling tree in Loudoun Co, VA (next to Fairfax) after producing a son, John L (4) Littleton who married Martha Goddard. ------------------------------------- >From all the records found we pretty well know that John(2)Littleton had sons John(3) b 1720, Charles b bef 1726 and Solomon(3) b abt 1740. We haven't found any proof other than the above but it appears that Pherrill could very well have been another son of John(2) Littleton and Sarah. HI I couldn't find any Alonzo Littleton, but Dexter B had a son named Lorenzo. Dexter married a Jackie A ?? about 1862 in Conway, AR. They had kids Ida, Thomas, Mattie, Mary, William, Lorenzo (b Feb 1880) and John W Littleton (b Jan 1882). Dexter then married a Sarah J Shewmake in Conway 16 Mar 1884 and they had kids Henry S, Ada Cordelia, Benjamine F, Elmer, Weaver and William. Dexter and Sarah are both buried in Friendship Cem, Solgohatchia, Conway, AR Dexters parents were Solomon Littleton and Nancy Williamson in Onslow. They were married 1831, had Adiann 1831 and Dexter in 1837. Then Solomon married Elizabeth (Betsy) Webb in 1840 in Onslow Co, NC. Solomon was born 1777 and appears to have had a brother Thomas. That's about as far as we can get. I have a gal in Onslow that has finally gotten ahold of TONS of research by Tucker Reed Littleton on all the Littletons in Onslow. She is slowly getting back to this general timeframe. So far we have the Onslow Littleton line from present day back to a Thomas Sparks Littleton b 1815 in Onslow. Attached is a word document on all we have on this line so far. We are going nuts trying to find the parents of this Thomas Sparks. Joyce, Give me some dates and places on your Thomas and I'll check to see where he is and if the manuscript goes that far. I have a bunch of Thomas's in NC but some of them just end there with no more info. Others did move on. If you have a birth date or parents or descendants, anything might help to isolate him. Terry, Does the book have any more information on Solomon Littleton who married Betsy Webb in 1840 in Onslow Co. NC? I found Dexter Littleton in ancestral files. I think he married first someone in Onslow Co. and and someone else in AR. He evidently came to AR with the rest of the family. I also found a Alonzo Littleton in the 1900 Prairie Co. AR census. He was living in the household of Henry Williams. I don't know who Alonzo belonged to.He must have been a member of the family because my grandmother named my father Alonzo. If there is any more info on Solomon, I would be interested in buying the book. Juanita Long
