Terry, Do you think the lady in Onslow that is working on the Littletons could find out about anything more about Solomon? He died in 1868, and I'm not sure if he died in Onslow Co or in Lenoir Co. Juanita Long
Hi, This is my first response about any Littleton family. Hugh Littleton was my G-grandfather...and he is buried in Loraine, IL...along with many other Littletons. I believe that his father was Thomas, but I will do some checking. The Quincy, IL Public Library has a great genealogy section and the staff there is very helpful. (I was the Acting Dir. there for awhile.) Hope this is helpful... Bill Littleton

Terry, The NC Gazetteer says: Littleton is a town in E Warren county and SW Halifax county. It was named for Little Manor , which was the home if William Person Little, and became a tavern. His house is still standing. It was named in newspapers as early as 1823, and became an established community by 1833. by William S. Powell Helen

I am interested in who Littleton, NC is named after also. By the way, there is a Littleton, IL which I believe was named after Littletons as there were some in that area of northeastern IL. ----- Original Message ----- From: <TLTURBO@aol.com> To: <LITTLETON-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, January 08, 2000 6:27 PM Subject: NC Littletons > Has anyone tried to find out WHO Littleton, NC was named for? > > I know Littletons Colorado was NOT names after a Littleton. If your older family members were fishermen in the Onslow area, I'm sure they tied in with the family of Tucker. Several of them were fishermen all their lives. I'll bet you are from one of them. Let me know what the oldest person you know positively was in Onslow and when. Terry Littleton (listdad)

I would love to know about the LITTLETON graves on Ocracoke. I'm also VERY interested in LITTLETONS that apparently were in Mecklenburg and Cabarrus Co, NC at about the same time. Terry Littleton (listdad)
Does anyone out there have a Casandra Littleton they are missing from their family line? My gggrandmother was Casandra Littleton, I don't have much info on her. We think she was born in Illinois around 1824, married Thomas J. Rice around 1842-43, later they moved to Mo and maybe Tx. We don't know where they are buried. Some in the family say around Dallas,Tx and others say in Mo or Ar. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it Thanks, Ona
