    3. Hello list - The panic is over. I'd certainly like to thank Darrell and Nelda. Nelda's message made me laugh, and gave me heart. Darrell's gave me the perfect thing to use to explain precisely what we expected in messages. Both gave my co-administrator and me needed reassurance that we were doing the correct thing, as did the reaction from List members. We've received many "thank yous". We can now breathe, as can the entire list. Thanks once again. Julia PS - we're taking your advice about rules, absolutely, and will send them out once a year to remind everyone. Nelda's advice : > Write her a nice polite email reminding her of your list rules /why she will be removed, and Rules if you don't have any write some now, leave her on moderation...until she stops sending flames or remove her. > > Send the rules out.. If there is no bitching unmoderate the list.. bitching leave on moderation... In your rules set a limit on how many flames - Like One warning on moderation/ second flame they are removed.. > > As far as getting notification of emails.. check twice a day.. don't worry they aren't getting email immediately.. that is part of the control of moderation. > > Your not paid to admin a list - you volunteer... so they can wait on you or behave. > > Nelda Darrell's advice: --------------------- Be polite. You may contradict any idea expressed on this list as vigorously as you like, if your language is cordial and non-personal and you are not disrupting the list as a whole. Another way of putting it,is this: if you flame, you're gone. It doesn't matter who you are, or how much you believe you have contributed to the list. Praise publicly, complain privately. Except to provide evidence correcting statements of fact, all criticism of others or their messages should be sent to me, privately.
