The person who posted an individual message can delete it from the list archives...only the poster can delete his own posts. He can't delete an entire thread. You, as admin, could make a judgment call and put a halt to the discussion and you also could initiate the removal of posts from your list if you deem it appropriate. To delete post(s) from the archives first find the post(s) in the archives and copy the URL(s) where you find the post(s). Paste each URL to be removed into the removal form here and click to initiate the removal: http://archiver.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/remove This will trigger a confirmation email to the POSTER who can then respond and delete the post. If the poster does not cooperate and complete the removal process the RootsWeb HelpDesk can do that for you but you should explain the reason for the removal when you request it of the HelpDesk. Note that the above removal form URL should only be given out on a need to know basis. Joan In a message dated 1/31/2012 1:25:13 A.M. How would one determine the validity of this and/or go about this deleting the thread if so determined?
