    3. Not that we need any more instances, but I have checked back in my subscribes for the past month, and have found five subscriptions by miguelmigsplus@gmail.com ... two are on moderately active lists, and three on quite inactive lists. Very Odd. All are now on moderate, thanks to the information provided by the LO List, PSW ----- Original Message ----- From: "Cutshall" <atgoose@suite224.net> To: <listowners@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, March 08, 2012 8:21 AM Subject: [LO] strange address subbing >I also have had Miguel Migs subscribe to a couple of my "L" lists... also >checked out the email and directly put him on moderate. But, I do not see anything that is even the tiniest bit odd in what you said, except that you think something is odd! Two things have been consistently reported on LO about this (very common-looking) address. 1. He has subscribed to a number of lists. 2. He hasn't done anything else. Now, I am *NOT* talking about admins who routinely moderate every new subscriber. That is an approach that I would never take myself, but at least I understand it. That is a system, a procedure. It does not require any speculation about what a new subscriber MIGHT be up to. What I am saying is that suspicion about this one innocuous looking address is spreading here on LO like news of a Mayflower passenger nobody had heard of before. Not everyone is buying it -- not everyone is even interested -- but it threatens to become one of those seeming "facts" that a lot of admins have at least heard about, always in a negative context. If someone subscribing and doing nothing is worthy of concern, then I have a awful lot of work to do with my member lists. I don't get it. It reminds me of the Veggie Tales episode, "The Rumor Weed".
