    2. I actually prefer moderating the person rather than unsubbing them. Staff will globally unsub them if they feel it is necessary after you report the spam to them and initiate archives removal. If I moderate the person I can stop them from posting but if I unsub them and they have no clue why they got unsubbed (and even if you let them know they may not read the email), they will probably just resubscribe and then the spam can start up all over again...they won't be moderated unless or until you manually check off the box again...allowing for a time lapse when new spam can hit the list from the same person.
