I believe the threading is controlled by header fields you can locate in the expanded headers. It is a part of the references and in-reply-to header fields: References: <64246984.20120706220244@one-name.org>, <55CDF5594AAB41F5AD40047AD353EC0F@AroundHome>, <4FF70D07.8060700@sky.com> <4FF717F7.3060400@sampubco.com>, <4FF767EC.9080102@sprynet.com> <4FF8099D.8020503@sky.com>, <4FF852CD.2040808@sampubco.com> <4FF85690.4060809@sampubco.com>, <4FF8684B.9050506@sprynet.com> <COL116-W55D862BCC6043369F33DDDE4ED0@phx.gbl> In-Reply-To: <COL116-W55D862BCC6043369F33DDDE4ED0@phx.gbl> X-ELNK-Trace: dc97cceeb839a68e5741bb2dafe82705b7f3a87d4e9c50f182aa343a0673875a8150aa233adf8790350badd9bab72f9c350badd9bab72f9c350badd9bab72f9c Joan In a message dated 7/7/2012 3:41:23 P.M. Good information Joan, thanks. May seem silly but, I never changed the subject line because of this incorrect opinion. Now, we ALL can do corrections and of course change the subject line when the email subject changes.... Thanks Darrell, Good topic to understand.. n. Many people, including myself, someimes take the lazy way when we wish to send a NEW message to a list. It is easy just to "reply" to a message already there. However, even if you completely change the subjuct, you end up with what is, for all intentional purposes, a new thread within an existing thread. I have stopped using the "reply" tactic now unless it really IS a genuine reply to the message. This allows me to be very nearly as lazy as clicking "Reply" but starts me fresh. I strongly suspect that other major e-mail clients offer the same feature, in one form or another. Darrell
