    3. Hi Pat, Are you talking about spam that is reaching your list, and visible in the archive, or spam that is reaching you as the list owner? If spam is reaching your list, it must be coming from people (or a person) who is subscribed to it.  Put those people on moderation immediately, or unsubscribe them altogether.  It is probably due to their email account being hacked, rather than them themselves sending it. If spam is reaching you as the list owner, you can reduce that.  Go to your list's Tools, and go to Privacy Options > Accept List.  At the option "Action to take for postings from non-members for which no explicit action is defined", and select Discard. This will remove mail sent to listname-request@rootsweb.com that the system cannot interpret as a proper request (subscribe, etc). Hope this helps. Please give us more information if you need more assistance from us. :-) Kind Regards, Wendy Howard On Sat, Feb 25, 2012 at 6:00 PM, Pat <patcreel@cableone.net> wrote: > > Hello, I am brand new to list.  Is there a way that rootsweb can manage all > the spam that goes to mailing lists?
