    3. Does anyone know how to fix this? There were two held messages from non-subscribers, snd no messages feom Renee. Do we the list owners have to do something to activate the lists, for first use? -------- Forwarded Message -------- Subject: Re: [NJHUNTER] Registering with new Mailman software Date: Fri, 6 Apr 2018 19:03:09 -0700 From: Renee L. Dauven <[email protected]> To: Marleen Van Horne <[email protected]> Marleen, I did do the registration thing when the lists first came back online. However, I noticed yesterday or the day before that the posts that I was sending to NJHunter were not showing up on the list and also not appearing in the archives. So yesterday I attempted to subscribe and received a notification that I was already subscribed. Today I logged in to my account and looked over the list of all the lists that I am subscribed to and sure enough, NJHunter is showing up on as one of the ones I am subscribed to. What am I doing wrong? Renee L. Dauven On 4/6/2018 4:44 PM, Marleen Van Horne wrote: > You will need to register with the new Mailman software at Rootsweb.

    3. There is an option to not receive your own posts. It's on the member options page. I would check that first. 3. And then if Gene's suggestion doesn't sort it out, get them to post again, and this time BCC you so you can see where it's going. Important that it's a BCC, not a CC, otherwise Mailman won't send you the list copy. BTW, you do not have to have registered with the new system to post to a list, if I understand it correctly. Registration is only compulsory for list owners. 1. [LO]Registering with the new RootsWeb Mailman software.
    2. Marleen Van Horne
    3. I sent the message on how to register with the new Mailman software to all of my lists last night. It seems there are ads on the page that are confusing the subscribers. If they click one of these ads, they are told to pay money to register, and / or that they have to download new software. None of which is true. This does not seem exactly ethical of RootsWeb / Ancestry to have allowed such misleading ads on the registration page. I have been getting comments and complaints all day from my subscribers.
