As do a great many other lists that are relevant to particular subjects, such as the Roll Call and Strays lists, most of which, like Gen-Events, have never been heard of. The result is they are are virtually like our ancestors - dead. Gen-Events is a new one on me. How to publicise them? By doing the very thing this thread is all about - posting to dozens of lists that may or may not be appropriate. . This Jamboree that's getting some hot under the collar sounds interesting and I wish I could attend. I didn't know about it before, so thank you to the person who first raised it and to the person who posted the link to the Jamboree's site. It's now been bookmarked and set to alert me when there's an update to the site. I will allow general interest subjects on my list because they often can and do affect the members of the list. On the matter of receiving dozens sof copies of the same message, the use of filters solves that problem - as it does for threads that go on and on to the point of disappearing up their own exhaust! <G> -- Charani (UK) OPC for Walton, Ashcott, Shapwick, Greinton and Clutton, SOM http://wsom-opc.org.uk
