    3. Yes, Jim and I know that, since we are some of the admins who last posted there. :-) Perhaps we're alone in liking to use the list rather than the board to talk about board admin issues. Sometimes using the board feels too public and it's more comfortable to talk to other board admins in a private environment. 3. While I respect everyone's right to their own opinion I have to wonder why lists would seem more private than boards? Yes, list mail is delivered by private email to YOU...it is also archived and searchable and can be browsed just like the boards. Or perhaps it is because you can reply privately to the individual's email address and not include the list? 3. My own preference is for mailing lists, but it has nothing to do with privacy.  I simply find it much easier to use mailing lists, where everything comes to my inbox, rather than having to go multiple locations to get the same information.  I suppose you could say I'm lazy. I haven't needed to ask any questions in quite some time, but if I did need to ask, I'd much prefer to do it via a mailing list -- again, due to pure laziness on my part.  My email client is a one-stop shop you could say.  That's my perspective for what it's worth. -- Mary On 2/24/20 1:29 PM, Joan Young via LISTOWNERS wrote: > While I respect everyone's right to their own opinion I have to wonder why lists would seem more private than boards? 3. What that tells me is that you need to learn how to USE the boards effectively. I don't understand why you would need to go to "multiple locations" to get the same information. Any boards you admin or boards that you want to follow...just click the link on that board to add the board to MY ALERTS (or MY FAVORITES). Set up a link in your browser to take you directly to your Alerts or favorites and you get a list of all the boards you included and all boards on your list that have new posts will be at the top in descending order based upon date of latest new post. I check my ALERTS daily or even more often and start at the top and work my way down until I've reviewed all posts I have not yet read. Also, you will be notified via email with a clickable link any time there is a response posted to any or your own posts or replies. Very simple and easier than emails because you can do all this at your convenience. Joan Young jyoung6180@aol.com -----Original Message----- From: Mary D. 3. If you are set up to get alerts from several different boards you *do* need to go separately to every one to read the latest messages -> more clicking, whereas with Lists you can read everything in your e-mail inbox. 3. I am certainly no expert in using Boards, but it seems to me that on Groups.io you can use a list in the same way you might use a board. You can go online and read and post messages there.
