    3. Yes, this worked Susie....so that was the problem. For the morbidly curious Susie was correctly subscribed to the list but all of her posts were going to held messages saying she was not subscribed. Thankfully we've solved the issue. I presume that's provided by her ISP, it seems to be the root cause of the problem. Susie's direct messages that do reach the list include the header: From: szada@zades.com.au That's minimalist but acceptable the world over. However, when she replies to a list message RainLoop says: From: "szada@zades.com.au" <listowners@rootsweb.com> That says "My real name is szada@zades.com.au and my address is listowners@rootsweb.com" Clearly she is not sending from the list address - and the list is not a subscriber to the list, we can live without infinite loops! Susie might find it worth trying her ISP's support system or that of RainLoop. I rather doubt this is something she can fix in her profile/options in RainLoop. I should add that I have never used (and never wish to use) RainLoop and no nothing about it that cannot be read on their web page - https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.rainloop.net&d=DwICbA&c=kKqjBR9KKWaWpMhASkPbOg&r=QqKR_1oid-wv3O1GFus6ukhkWVArI2oTvHi2_JUm6dE&m=pYBmxSUlt5ianh_DFqLqEhWhlDl6KmFc84yPUJgh60Y&s=38W-bwPdqMctW-I9WlIXfNf3iwf3obdN1wSg9gdmf_Q&e= HTH, Malcolm. -- Malcolm Austen <malcolm.austen@weald.org.uk>

    3. Hi Joan and Malcolm, I loathe and detest RainLoop - I got stuck with it when a friend helped me out with a problem with my ISP. They took over the regional ISP that I had been using for many years and promptly deleted my database (1.7+ million records for free regional research) and web site with more than 400 pages. They had also corrupted their so-called backup of my site and database! I was just grateful when an alternative was sorted out but the end result was I got stuck with RainLoop. I tried setting up Outlook on my new ISP / mail but failed and haven't had any help to sort it out. I have a couple of options: 1. Use my old backup computer for all Rootsweb mail - I have my fingers crossed that this one will work OK and not get held. 2. Work out how to send from my Gmail account but from my szada@zades.com.au email 3. Set up my gmail account as listowner of my lists 4. Not sure! About to head off for another day full of meetings - busy week all around - but I'll keep trying to sort something out - I hate being a nuisance! Thanks, Malcolm. I do think you have found the problem in that I had asked previously why it looked like Susie's mail was coming from the listowners list. Then she sent me an email and it clearly was coming directly from her. I do think MailMan is picking up Susie's sending address as the list. I should add that I have never used (and never wish to use) RainLoop and no nothing about it that cannot be read on their web page - https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.rainloop.net&d=DwIC bA&c=kKqjBR9KKWaWpMhASkPbOg&r=QqKR_1oid-wv3O1GFus6ukhkWVArI2oTvHi2_JUm6dE&m= pYBmxSUlt5ianh_DFqLqEhWhlDl6KmFc84yPUJgh60Y&s=38W-bwPdqMctW-I9WlIXfNf3iwf3ob dN1wSg9gdmf_Q&e= HTH, Malcolm. -- Malcolm Austen <malcolm.austen@weald.org.uk> _______________________________________________ Email preferences: https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=http-3A__bit.ly_rootswebpref&d=DwICaQ&c=kKqjBR9KKWaWpMhASkPbOg&r=QqKR_1oid-wv3O1GFus6ukhkWVArI2oTvHi2_JUm6dE&m=SHF3t5r_awR7y7ZtP5OLrCMMqWx53YDCCTl-0LEib6U&s=c9agd3sSrfLGlm5sjSyXqqMFU1IRQRrx8-e_IZqeK7A&e= Unsubscribe https://lists.rootsweb.com/postorius/lists/listowners@rootsweb.com Privacy Statement: https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__ancstry.me_2JWBOdY&d=DwICaQ&c=kKqjBR9KKWaWpMhASkPbOg&r=QqKR_1oid-wv3O1GFus6ukhkWVArI2oTvHi2_JUm6dE&m=SHF3t5r_awR7y7ZtP5OLrCMMqWx53YDCCTl-0LEib6U&s=nkO8I9kmkhBZ80IiBRfG2x0py_4gjYdn0WYAQFQLR9I&e= Terms and Conditions: https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__ancstry.me_2HDBym9&d=DwICaQ&c=kKqjBR9KKWaWpMhASkPbOg&r=QqKR_1oid-wv3O1GFus6ukhkWVArI2oTvHi2_JUm6dE&m=SHF3t5r_awR7y7ZtP5OLrCMMqWx53YDCCTl-0LEib6U&s=TtbQ9laAZx99xJ2XrB8RSqe-r_57F1K0eLS7RSXgixQ&e= Rootsweb Blog: http://rootsweb.blog RootsWeb is funded and supported by Ancestry.com and our loyal RootsWeb community
