Thank you, Wendy, for replying. I really do not like the Google email program because they try to do things for me that I really do not want, so we fight a bit. I do use Google for all my single posts for the lists I admin for Rootsweb, however. I send all digests to my pacbell account, which I am not receiving, so now using Outlook for the digests as a work around. Since there are a lot more Rootsweb users than just I who use an ATT/Yahoo email service, I was hoping that Rootsweb could get involved to help solve our problem. The lists have been dead. I do not know if it is because of this problem or that maybe everyone has conquered their brick walls. It saves the hassle of having to monitor another email address altogether, and you can customise filters for that mail if you want. For all Rootsweb lists I manage, I'm subscribed with my usual address for the individual posts, and with wendy.howard+digest@gmail.com for the digest option.
My ISP where my SAMPUBCO is located, tracked down the stubborn problem and it had to do with security and blocking Found we need to discontinue STARTTLS and start using SSL for outgoing SMTP as major companies are blocking all who still use STARTTLS. My problem was resolved instantly. Rootsweb is using Outlook service and now requires SSL. To change to SSL, one have to go into own email settings to change to SSL. Check the security of your emails When possible, Gmail protects your info by automatically encrypting your emails, which turns them into a code during delivery. This security tool is called Transport Layer Security <https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__transparencyreport.google.com_safer-2Demail_overview&d=DwIFaQ&c=kKqjBR9KKWaWpMhASkPbOg&r=QqKR_1oid-wv3O1GFus6ukhkWVArI2oTvHi2_JUm6dE&m=CeoZnE01Ex9AHSot0A4N3ZUjKaJshaq5_qXYb-TV8Zc&s=-eQbtl26wJU1P6rLjX9Sq1Q5MgjRSkMrFcNINsRrLFw&e=> (TLS) and helps prevent others from reading your emails. Check messages If you're on a computer or an Android device, emails that aren't protected by this security tool will show No TLS [image: No TLS]. This icon looks like an open red lock and means that someone else might be able to read the email.
