Just for kicks I clicked the "subscriptions in moderation" tab whille checking for spam, etc. To my surprise, every list I checked had some. AND, every list I've checked is set to "confirm" -- which means the subscriber needs to click a link to be subbed. It does *not* mean that the listowner needs to do anything. And yet these addresses were sitting there waiting for my action. Some of them seem suspicious so I took no action. Worse, this list had quite a few waiting. Some seemed legit, but how do I know? This list used to be wired differently than all the others, and only allow actual listowers to subscribe. This seems to no longer be the case, which is regrettable. Anyone else noticing this? To be clear, I'm talking about *subscriptions* not moderated list members. When you aren't the admin you can't see any admin functions. I (think I) have seen one instance of this and deduced that, while waiting for the user to click on the confirmation link, the subscription is held in the pending list. I can see a merit to this - the list admin can do the confirmation if the subscriber can't/won't/doesn't understand what to do. On the other hand, if I have deduced correctly I'm not clear how this works for a list set to 'Confirm then Moderate' - the admin needs to know whether it's waiting for confirmation or moderation.
