One of the lists I admin is Freepages-Help, and people often try to post to that list asking about changes re access to their existing account, even though they are not current members of the list. I usually respond telling them they must first subscribe before they can post. Today, I found almost a dozen subscription requests in the SUBSCRIPTION REQUESTS section of my list tools, even though I had set up this list to allow new members to subscribe themselves, i.e. no approval required. I searched my list tools to find the option to allow members to subscribe themselves without admin approval, but could no longer find that option and verify it had been selected. Why are new members being effectively blocked from subscribing since I had no idea that I would need to approve each and every subscription request? Pat Asher
I found the setting by clicking on the following tabs Settings Subscription Policy. There are 4 options in the drop down menu which are described below the menu.
