If I send messages to the Lists I manage, and subscribers >receive the messages, why do they need to "register"? If the subscribers >"see" my posts, what else is needed. Subscribers will be sent posts from the lists to which they are subscribed whether registered or not. They can sub or unsub by sending email to the appropriate address as they did with the old Mailman software. They need to register if they want to MANAGE their subscriptions through the Mailman online interface. For example, your email address has changed and you can no longer send or receive mail using the old address. Login to the Mailman interface and update your email address there. Going on vacation for two weeks? Login to the Mailman interface and you can stop your list mail temporarily, without having to unsub then resub when you return. You can decide if you want to receive "duplicates," i.e. the copy sent to the list as well as the cc: to you as the original poster. There are a number of useful options for managing your subscriptions if you register. Pat A.
