    3. Here is a link to one of my lists: https://lists.rootsweb.com/postorius/lists/new-england-irish.rootsweb.com/members/owner/ the list is New England Irish. Put the name of your list in it's place, do not use capitals and put a dash (-) between each word in the name of your list. Good luck.

    3. I only have a few surname lists which are very quiet (read "dead"), so that's easy. Have added a note to my county and topics lists, where appropriate. Am also adding unsub instructions, since the default message points subscribers to Mailman and seems to confuse everyone. I LIKED gatewayed posts. I subscribed to email lists to read the gatewayed board posts without having to waste time going to a dozen boards one at a time to see if someone had posted something I usually wasn't interested in. The only time I went to a board was if the email list received a post I wanted to help or respond to. It was more efficient. faster, and I didn't miss any research clues or chances to help a newbie. 3. That kind of depends on your list settings. If you have your non-subscriber mail set to "discard" they will automatically be discarded and you will never see the gatewayed posts. If you have your non-subscriber mail set to "hold" then you will need to manually discard them. My hope is that eventually they will sort this out to include a footer on list mail with a link to the allied message board so that list members will see the link with each new post and remember that in addtion to having a list as a resource they also have a board. 3. Actually, Marge is not right. As has been discussed on this list several times over the last several months, the Ban list prevents someone from subscribing to the list. It does NOT prevent anyone (including the MB Gateway) from sending posts TO the list address. Anyone can send an email to whom or whatever. Until Anne's staff is able to find the bug in the script that is still activating gatewayed messages from the Boards, they will still be received by Mailman and appear in Held Messages for your list. BTW, I haven't received gatewayed message board posts on my lists for some years. Have you checked your subscriber list? Does the Gateway address still appear there? I forget now what it was/is, but you can check the sender address in the headers of the messages your list is receiving and unsubscribe it if it still appears as subscribed. I don't know if that would have an effect, but it wouldn't hurt. Pat Asher At 01:56 PM 11/21/2018, David E.
