    3. Good idea to test all of our list's archives, Nivard. Just tested LancsGen, which seems to work okay. Search All Lists appears to work okay, but how would we know? The Eng-Surrey list admin thought that her list's archives were made private as part of the "new and improved" RootsWeb. There may be other admins out there that think the same thing. Judging by participation on this list, there seem to be few admins that are subscribed to it so many admins might not have a clue about some of the problems we've been experiencing. 3. Thats an odd one isn't it I tried with my usual browser which I use for Rootsweb, and as I am a subscriber to Eng-Surrey it let me view the archives Tried a different browser and got the message you reported So in that browser I tried another two lists, one I am not subscribed to and both let me view the archives, so it appears to be just Eng-Surrey Unless others I haven't tried are also "private" Nivard Ovington in Cornwall (UK) On 14/12/2018 17:12, Lynne wrote: > Was going to recommend to one of my subscribers to post to another list, Eng-Surrey, but before doing so thought I'd check to see if he'd already posted there. 3. Note that under Settings - Subscription Policy, these are the options: Open: Subscriptions are added automatically Confirm: Subscribers need to confirm the subscription using an email sent to them Moderate: Moderators will have to authorize each subscription manually. Confirm then Moderate: First subscribers have to confirm, then a moderator needs to authorize. If you are not set to Moderate or Confirm then Moderate, then no subscription requests should show up in the Subscription Requests tab. Correct me if I am wrong. 3. Our best guess is when we were having issues being blacklisted by ATT and Earthlink, a lot of requests were stuck in the queue instead of being sent out to owners. I would recommend checking those queues from time to time to make sure nothing is there. Even if you have Confirm or Open, if someone never receives the email for whatever reason, the request remains in that queue. I've got someone trying to subscribe to a list (this one) and they tried subscribing and never got the confirmation email. They have no trouble receiving other RootsWeb list mail. I tried subbing them on the admin page and get an error message that there is already a subscription request pending. The individual also tried subbing on the webpage and also got this error message. Question: is there a way to clear out the pending subscription request so that we can get this person subbed to the list? Do they clear on their own in a specified time or does it require some special action by staff? Joan Young jyoung6180@aol.com<mailto:jyoung6180@aol.com>

    3. I am still receiving them and am very glad that they're not blocked! As I only have one list that was gatewayed, I have the luxury of sharing board posts with my listers. The unblocked gateway messages are a great reminder for me to do this. I understand that I'm in a minority, so in anticipation of your blocking my gateway notices, my phone reminds me to look weekly for new message board posts. In the meantime, thanks so much for keeping me informed! 3. It appears that lists were down for a bit -- not really sure how long. While the process that sends and received email appeared to be up and running, well, it wasn't. We have restarted it and are working on updating our monitoring. If you have an email that didn't go through, you will need to resend it. Anne
