I'm guessing that would have to come from Anne Mitchell at Ancestry, to cover all lists at once if that's possible. When you say you had over 1000 emails in a matter of minutes, were they posts to your lists? Was the sender subscribed to your list? Were they held up in moderation? What have you done with the emails, if anything? Hi David, Your list admin needs to go to the admin page for that list - https://lists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/postorius/lists/<listname>.rootsweb.com/ (substitute the name of the list where it says <listname>. This is the generic address for every Rootsweb list, whether you're the owner, a moderator or simply a subscriber. Those with added privileges will have more options to see. Based on what others have posted before me, she should first click on the "Banned addresses" link in the menu, to check that you've not been banned in the past. If your address is listed there, she should click on the X next to your address to remove it from that list. Then go to "Mass operations", and click on "Mass subcribe" which pops up when you click on the menu. This is where the list owner can add new members. Copy the email address that is to be added, then click on the blue button "Subscribe users". I've taken a screenshot of one of my lists' pages and edited it down with red circles marking the menu items I've mentioned above, in case it helps. Gene, I don't know, but more importantly SHE DOESN'T KNOW and will not try to find out. She referred me to "her technician" who knows as little as she does. . . . . and doesn't even have password access to the tools page. None of this makes any sense. Pat, I have no idea, and neither does she. I have never met a list owner so clueless and unwilling to accept help. That is why I began looking for some sort of a "workaround" to subscribe myself. She even has a "technician" to help her, but the technician knows no more than she does and does not have access to the list, so NONE of this makes any sense at all. David E. David, Could the list have been set in the past so that all subscriptions required admin approval? If those setting were migrated to the new Mailman3 version, and she doesn't know how to use the new tools, that could also be the problem. Pat A.
