I am looking for information on a James LINDSEY who moved to Pendleton, Oregon around 1881. He married Sarah (b. abt 1864 in Iowa), and the two of them show up on the Umatilla Co., OR Census of 1900 (pg 176A) together. This particular James died in 1903. There is reason to believe that James is my g-g-g grandfather who moved west (from Ohio) after his first wife died shortly after giving birth to my g-g-grandmother (Florence SPARGUR LINDSEY) in 1876. My great grandmother remembers my g-g grandmother (Nellie LINDSEY KNISLEY) travelling to Oregon many years ago by train, but apparently she didn't tell anyone why she was going. If you have any information whether this could or could not be the man I am looking for, your input is greatly appreciated!!! PLEASE RESPOND!
