    3. How strange. My Lindsay ancestors reportedly came from Northern Ireland, probably Londonderry. A Thomas Lindsay was killed just before setting sail to America abt. 1724. His wife and children went to America. Two of the known children, James and Thomas, b. 1723 & 1725 settled in Bridgewater, Mass. and later emigrated to Leeds, Maine. Some other people researching the Lindsays say that there were probably other brothers of Thomas. Indeed there is an Andrew Lindsay in Bridgewater, Mass. who we think might be related. (I believe Thomas had children named William, James, and not sure about John at the moment.) Somone found a listing for a Martha Lindsay (a widow) from Northern Ireland who arrived in America in 1719, but we thought that seemed impossible. I am going to Northern Ireland next month.
