    3. I seem to recall that there was a recent posting to this group about a William Lindsey of Nash Co., NC, with descendants in GA. I have one tiny piece of information about a Nash Co. William Lindsey, but am not sure if this is the same man or someone altogether different. According to a handwritten chart of the Pridgen family sent to me several years ago by Mrs. Hal F. Humphrey of New Bern, NC, a William Lindsey married Nancy Pridgen on 21 Nov. 1823 in Nash Co., NC. If I'm not mistaken, information about this marriage is also in Eloise Fretz Potter and Timothy Wiley Rackley, RACKLEY: A SOUTHERN COLONIAL FAMILY (Zebulon, NC: Potter Publications, 1984). A William Lindsey also left a will in Nash Co., 16 Feb. 1817, pr. May 1817. It names wife Polley, eldest son John Wesley Lindsey, sons Asbury Lindsey and William Ray Lindsey, and daughters Jerusha Lindsey, Polley Mintz Lindsey, and Betsey Mary Fletcher Lindsey. The will also mentions land purchased from Nathan Lindsey and Amos Hatcher on Saponey Creek, adj. land of Jephtha Lindsey (see Stephen E. Bradley, Jr., THE WILLS OF NASH CO., NC, vol. 1, 1777-1848 [Keysville, VA, 1992], p. 53). I suspect that some of the early Lindseys in Nash Co., NC, had ties to Granville Co., NC. On 5 March 1754, a Joseph Lindsey and wife Rachel deeded land in St. John's Parish, Granville Co., to Leonard Lindsey (Granvile DB B, p. 284). _________________________________________________________________ Chat with friends online, try MSN Messenger: http://messenger.msn.com
